I was born and raised in Oakland, California and received a bachelor degree in English Lit from Florida State University.  I currently work with the most wonderful group of people at the University of California.

I'm obsessed with classical history, am an active and devout Beatlemaniac, was convinced I was a Skywalker until about the age of eight, am a life-long Athletics-Warriors-Niners fan, preach die-hard dog enthusiasm, trees are my religion and my garden is the temple where I go to pray.
